Girls and Boys Soccer Tryouts 2020

Girls and Boys’ soccer tryouts will be held Monday, October 5th and Tuesday, October 6th. There will be one cut, which will be made at the end of practice on Tuesday and posted on the school website under the soccer section.  

Tryout Times:

Monday 10/5

Girls 2:30 – 4:00 (Must be picked up by 4:00)

Boys 4:00 – 5:30 (Must be picked up by 5:30)

Tuesday 10/6

Boys 2:30 – 4:00 (Must be picked up by 4:00)

Girls 4:00 – 5:30 (Must be picked up by 5:30)

Players are highly encouraged to attend both days of tryouts. Due to COVID, we will not have a JV team this year so we will not be carrying as many players as usual. Attending both days will give coaches more time to assess players.

Players staying at school must report to the cafeteria when wave 4 is called. If you are going home before tryouts, report to the field when you return to school and check in with Ms. Prewitt on the soccer field.

Please pick up your athlete on time

A sports physical is required for tryouts and must be dated after April 15, 2020.  Physical forms must be on the Pre-participation Medical Evaluation Form

We have four other color-coded forms in the office that need to be completed; Consent for Athletic Participation, Concussion, Cardiac Arrest, and COVID – 19 consent forms.

Students CANNOT try out without all forms completed. If possible, please bring all 5 forms prior to Monday and give them to Mr. Webster, Ms. Prewitt or Mr. Browder.

All students trying out must wear shin guards and have a mask at tryouts.

Parents interested in watching tryouts are required to view tryouts from the top of the hill. 

***If your athlete is quarantined during the tryout dates because of COVID, please email Mr. Browder and let him know the situation.***

 If your child makes the team please be aware of the following:

1.      Each player must attend all practices, which will be from 2:30 – 4:00 Monday – Friday. 

2.      Players must be picked up by 4:00 each day

3.      If you make the team, OUR FIRST PRACTICE WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, October 7th.

4.      There will be a parent zoom meeting on Thursday 10/8 to go over expectations and give information about the season.  We will let your player know the time of the meeting and login information on Wednesday 10/7.

5.      Please be aware that if you make the team, there is a $25 sports fee to participate on all Hunter sports teams.
