Just a reminder practice ends promptly at 4pm and all track team members should be picked up on time unless there is an emergency. 

Please review the team discipline policy located on the info sheet in Forms, all team discipline is subject to coach and administrative discretion.

Congratulations to all boys who tried out, you have made the track team for this year.

Congratulations to all girls who tried out, you have made the track team for this year.

There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Thursday 3/10/22 at 4pm for all boys and girls who made the track team.

For the remainder of the season all practices will end at 4pm and athletes MUST have a ride promptly at 4pm. There will be no practices on Fridays.

2/8/22 - Boys interest meeting will be held in the gym from 6:45-7:05 please come by during these times once you arrive at school

Track and Field Tryouts


All students trying out must have all paperwork completed and turned in to Coach Bacon, Coach Smith, or already on file in order to try out.  Tryouts will not be extended due to a lack of paperwork on tryout day.

Tryouts for each team are held for one day only unless
it is announced day of that there will be a second day. If there is a reason that you can not be at tryouts on your assigned date the student/parent must contact Coach Bacon or Coach Smith to make arrangements for the student to tryout on another day of the 2/3 days designated for tryouts.  

There will be no alternate dates for tryouts unless weather
cancels one of the dates either for the boys or girls.

**Track tryouts are being held during baseball pitchers and catchers week and before baseball tryouts begin this year. If a student makes the track team they will not be allowed to tryout for baseball then return to the track team if they are cut during baseball tryouts. Students will not be allowed to tryout for track after baseball tryouts have ended as the track and field team rosters will have been completed and submitted. **

Boys: 3/8/22 after school meet in the gym to check in and change.

                    Tryouts will end promptly at 4:30pm - Boys MUST have a ride at 4:30pm

Girls: 3/9/22 after school meet in the gym to check in and change.
                    Tryouts will end promptly at 4:30pm -
 Girls MUST have a ride at 4:30pm

3/10/22 - Possible second day of tryouts for either or both teams if needed due to the number of students who tryout. If not this will be the first day of track practice for those who make both teams.


Items needed for tryouts:
Clothing appropriate for the weather as tryouts are held outside regardless of temperature
Running shoes
Water bottle
All required paperwork
A ride at 4:30pm (once tryouts are over practice will end at 4:00pm for those who make the team)

 

**If you make the team you will be responsible for purchasing your own track jersey from sports spectrum to be worn with solid navy shorts.
